Don't worry, If he is happy with his tank and is ready to mate he probably will start to make a nest right after you clean it! Bettas are tough to breed though so make sure you look up how to breed them and good luck with the bubble nest! haha *guppylover*

some males make bubble next all the time, like daily,he may just kill the females so unless you get a good betta book on breeding then don't bother, i think breeding bettas need a 10 gallon and you have to remove the females after they have layed there eggs in his bubble nest and the babies (fry) are really hard to keep alive you have to give them an area to keep from being sucked into the filter.
The coolest fish to breed are fancy guppies they are called live bearers they come in colors almost as attractive as bettas and the young are born alive and swimming no messy eggs the parents ususally don't eat them so you can have a tank full in no time, same goes for mollies and platties

A healthy male betta that ready to breed will make a bubble nest almost all the time. He's probably working on a new one by now lol.

They do it often so no worries. I had a male and female betta in my little tank, a while back, and they started that right away. Then I gave my female to my sister and she had a male, they started that same day! The male made his bubble nest, and then him and then him and the female got in their egg laying ritual. It is pretty interesting to watch.

They will make a nest any time they feel like attracking a female. Mine remakes his every few weeks.
Do a lot of research on breeding bettas before you try. It is not an easy process and it is even harder to raise the babies.

as soon as you get the females, put them next to his tank and by the next day you will see his nest, but only put one female in.
