1986 GMC 1500, how should the vacuum line be routed? I jus had a smog and they said the vaccum line ares modified, misplaced. Is there a specific way they should be?

That's a bad year for vacuum lines. There are a bunch of them.
Look on the emissions sticker usualy stuck to the underside of the hood, on the fan shroud, or air filter housing.
It will indicate ALL the vacuum lines.

Nope.
Put the vaccum meter in the intake manifold....
You need 20 inches of vaccum.....

AND THAT'S ALL YOU NEED!!!

Not 20? You have a leakage.

20 inches of vaccum make the system work!!!
is not the hose ? is Ok ....
is the hose connected from the intake manifold to whatever system??? PERFECT.!!!!!
as long You have 20 inches of vaccum in it.

You can find a vac hose diagram under the hood or on a truck at junkyard.
