Do people dislike it or do they just not pay attention to it because it's sort of off-putting?

I think it's one of those things that a person needs some information about it and some interest in it.

Once the interest is there and you start to learn about it, classical music opens itself up to you. However, it won't come over to your house, demand you let itself into your livingroom and make you hear it.

It's just going to sit over on the shelf and wait until someone takes interest in it.

But it's always worth it.

Who are you talking about? I don't know anyone who dislikes classical music.

I do know a lot of people who wouldn't be able to identify it though.

Because they have no imagination to 'see' the music. They can't see the story or picture in their head so they need lyrics to help them. Classical music is brilliant, very emotive and just great to listen to.

many of the composers were insane to begin with from their lifes work. their music is redundant and over time it gets old in that sense too.
