Do you think that history is important?

i think history is very important

According to my seventh grade geography teacher last year, we learn history for two reasons...
1) To learn about our mistakes from the past.
2) To try to prevent it from repeating itself.

I guess it is important, but I still don't like it. For that reason, instead of taking Honors Ancient History next year, I'm taking World Geography.

Very much so. How can you know where you are going and what to expect if you don't know what happen before you. The old quote is very true "History repeats itself."

You might say it's a fundamental. I like the addage: He that does not study history is doomed to repeat it's mistakes.
A book well written can do something we can't physically do. We can go to places and times we could otherwise never go to.

Yes. While history doesn't repeat itself, events do. Plus there is a lot to learn from history (what to do, what not to do... a lot of what not to do).

depending on what parts of history. i have so much space in my mind that is filled up with history facts that i know i will never use because i want to become a surgeon.

history is extremely important... we should always ensure we learn from our mistakes and make sure they aren't repeated... :-)
