I hit the "nesting" stage a couple days ago and yesterday morning had a false alarm with my water breaking. Then after leaving the hospital my contractions started up again and were about 5 min apart for quite awhile and then they just stopped. I didn't sleep well and have been nauseous and vomiting all day. I also had "the bloody show" this morning. I'm dilated to 3 centimeters and the doctor thinks I'll have the baby by the end of the weekend. I'm not so sure though because the contractions have stopped. Any ideas on how long it will be until I have my son? Any suggestions on stopping the nausea? Crackers do not help and I am throwing up water at this point too.

Is it real contractions like hard menstrual cramps or are you just feeling your abdomen tighten? You will know when you really do go into labor and won't have to ask, trust me. I would get alot of "you'll just know" and I didn't understand because I thought I was really having actual contractions but real contractions feel like bad menstrual cramps, you don't want to talk when going through one and your stomach does not get hard like the baby is tightening up. When you're in true labor "real contractions and all" you will NOT even think about getting online and yahoo. You'll see what I mean. Sounds like you are on your way soon though, good luck with everything!

I do not think you can go very long if your water did indeed break. This is the sac that protects the baby from infection and bacteria. If you do not have the baby soon, your Dr. will probably induce or do a c-section. Go to the above sites and read a little and good luck.

Ugh, nausea sucks. Try some tums, but that's pretty much all you can take. Or some sprite, since its lighter than water.

No guesses....but good luck!! How far along are you now?
