i saw on a show someone who did a butterfly neclace sewing beads together. does anyone know how to do this or know a website that teaches you?

it was on the DIY channel, but i would like a website which will give pictures on how to do it. i couldnt understand the instructions of the DIY website

If you are not familiar with the stitching techniques, this project is probably beyond you.Whenever I make a butterfly pin, I stitch it on buckram. It is a stiff backing that you stitch the beading onto.

That sounds like something called 'peyote stitch'.

you can do something like that with peyote stitch i suppose, or you can apply beads one at a time onto a fabric backing until you have covered it similar to embroidery only with beads, try about.com
