They won't tell us how...but she wasn't in school for 1 week and had just resigned from being the lacrosse coach. I don't know how she died? what do you think?
And will we have a day off of school so I can go to the funeral??

I am very sorry for your loss. It is very sad. I'm sure that you are upset. There is no set way that schools would deal with this kind of thing. They will consult with the school counselors about how to proceed. I think that if you are given the chance that you should go to the funeral. It will give you a sense of closure and show her family that you cared about her.

This is so sad
Teachers rarely show pupils what they are like as people with problems and issues
I think the best thing to do would be to start a collection for her and ask the head of maths how best to send a signed card and the money to her family
Or collect for flowers for a wreath or to give to her fav charity
Dont be sad light a candle and say a prayer for her
Shes safe now and quite content

There probably won't be a day off for students to attend the funeral, but most of time students are excused for attending funerals anyway. I was out for a solid week when my grandmother died (out of state), and it was excused. I'm really sorry this happened. :(

I am sure you will find out soon the specifics of how she died. TO be honest why isnt important, what is important is that she meant something to you. In these cases most schools do make arrangements to allow students to attend funerals. If yours does not , have your parents request it. Please write her family to let them know that she was a special person and you respected her as a teacher. It is a comfort to them to know she make a difference in young peoples lives.

I am sure that the school wil let you off, or the service maybe over the weekend.
May God hold you in his hands during this sad time.
