I think Bill Callahan is on the right track with Nebraska. He usually brings in a pretty good recruiting class, this year is no different. The acquisition of Sam Keller from ASU will make Zac Taylor's curtain call easier. Even though Keller still has to compete for the starting job, he shouldn't have any problem given the way he played at ASU. I would give Callahan a few more years to make a name for himself in Lincoln. The Nebraska faithful will never give up hope in their beloved Huskers...

I've been saying the same thing about schools like Penn State and Notre Dame. The once unbeatable or rarely beatable teams seem to lose 2 or 3 games a year anymore. Nebraska, Texas, and Oklahoma use to be feared by everyone. I guess these types of football programs run in cycles which may take a decade or more to change. I'd say yes to your question. Eventually they will bring in a group of students just like USC did and will have several years of nearly perfect football.

Yes NEBRASKA will. Give Callahan another year or two. Just cause they haven't gotten a national title for 10 years doesn't mean they won't again. They were the team to beat in the 70's and the 90's - Five national titles 71-72, and the three in the 90's it isn't bad for 25 years- thats 20%.

I am in no way a Husker fan, but I am a college football fan. The 2 games I watched last year showed me that you need a coaching change. Very poor decision making. The best recruiting class in history won't win you squat with an idiot at the helm.

i actually believe the direct opposite of what many experts feel...i think that bill callahan is not helping this program, but is moreso hindering its ability to grow...they have improved drastically since their disastrous first season under him, but they still have yet to show that they have the ability to win the big game...the same was true for callahan in oakland, and i believe that until nebraska hires a coach with the ability to coach them up in the games that count, they will not be a perennial championship contender
