It would depend greatly on the culture. In Anglo culture, not being able to look someone in the eyes is considered a sign of guilt. In many cultures it's considered rude to stare straight into the eyes of a person in a position of authority. In some cultures, it's considered rude for a woman to make eye contact.

There are a lot of studies on this subject, but I think they all relate to Anglo culture.

I find the eyes dialate, they can touch their nose's scratch their arms or touch their face. I guess it also depends on how well you know ther person too.

I find I can tell if most people are lying as it seems to come naturally to me once again as anotehr fellow said on here he is a scorpio and so am I anotehr friend finds it easy to she is scorpian as well.

Check out the body language that is a sure sign.

In American culture.. They touch a part of their face, avoid eye contact, sweat, look nervous.. And if they're a bad liar, they have to keep re-explaining something! Good liar: harder to tell, but their body language may look different- less relaxed and more cautious, nervous. Perhaps arms folded..

There are usually some tells obvious ones are not looking directly at the person they are talking to. It takes skill to lie whilst looking someone directly in the eye.

Secondly people will often make a repetitive motion licking lips playing with their ears are quite common.

Hope this helps

Be born on 1st November Samhain with Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Aquarius. I can read it every time spot on ( and has nothing to do with culture at all). The rest is mine.

By looking them directly in the eyes and watching their body language as well. From the first day I met my wife, she could read me like a book. I learned right away that I couldn't lie to her because she knew right away by looking at me. I guess I'm pretty transparent.

a lotta ways, they'd be rubbing their chin, scratching their head, avoid eye contact, speak slowly, and say eh and eh plus the imp one is that they'd be constantly flexing their fingers.

If they're not making any eye contact, look nervous, stare at some other place or right through you, or make any tiny movements (i.e. tapping feet, drumming fingers).
