First, hardwire to the router and enter the configuration utility by opening a browser and typing the LAN address of the router (usually 192.168.1.1 or something similar). Change the password from the default if you haven't yet. Go to the Wireless section, name your network with a unique SSID, enable encryption (WPA-Personal is secure and easy, don't use WEP). Unplug from the router and your Linksys should report that it has detected networks -- click on yours and hit Connect, enter your passphrase and you should be all set.

Well, is your adapter showing you that its working? Can you view wireless networks? Is your 2Wire router set up with the wireless turned on?

Start with the first, then the second, then the third.
Recheck your installation information and information that came with your adapter to assure it installed correctly.
Then check the 2Wire to assure the wireless is turned on
( http://2wire.com ) for help -- by default the serial number is the security key.

using more advantageous than one router on a similar connection motives complications. this isn't the way a instant router is designed to artwork. What you extremely choose is a instant get admission to point, this may have one lan connection regularly, and acts as a bridge to the instant router. you ought to then choose a community change linked to the get admission to point to connect the machines domestically to it. Your way you need to be attempting to opposite the router action. in spite of this in good structure instant playing cards in each and each and every gadget and merely use the only router. a lot more convenient.
