I thought the judge ruled already that he will still pay alimony. A sex change operation really doesn't change the gender, its cosmetic, so the argument about it not being a legal marriage and divorce due to the sex change is not valid.

I don't think a faithful man should have to pay alimony at all. If a husband or wife cheats, let them pay forever...

I saw it too and I've worked in family law as a legal assistant for 15 years. I would have to say no. If the wife becomes a man, then alimony should stop.

In my opinion yes...and it hurts to pay a lot of alimony to my ex wife! Alimony is about giving the other person a degree of the lifestyle they were used to during the marriage. Whether they are a man or a woman, if there was a difference in earning potentials or sacrifices made for the marriage, then alimony applices. I would say that if she enters into a domestic partnership with someone, then it's time to cut off alimony.

I examine this text besides and it reported that the regulation examine that provided that she remarries or dies, the alimony could provide up. it somewhat is the place i think of this guy ought to combat having to pay alimony. She, in a feeling, is ineffective. She is now a guy, she replaced her call, and the lady she was once no longer exists, in accordance to her very own will and doing. i think of this guy's attorneys ought to apply this highway to combat the alimony. If their state does not understand same intercourse marriages, it fairly is impossible for those 2 to ever reconcile. If she feels she exchange right into a guy all alongside in a woman's physique, she ought to would desire to pay lower back the alimony. damn, I ought to have been a criminal expert! in the event that they are going to uphold this in court, then they might desire to limit intercourse variations!

They don't know what the outcome will be, that's why it's making news. But, consider this...there is no stipulation in an alimony order stating that the recipient must remain the same sex. Maybe they'll start including that in the future.
