Who paid the premiums on the insurance? If you paid them with after-tax income, then the payments are tax free, but if your employer or union paid the premiums, then it's taxable.

If it is private plan, you don't report it. If it is group, and you paid the Disability prem, or it was a taxable benefit(thePrem) you don't report it either.

If it's from EI or the employers shared or paid all the DI prem, you report it as income on your tax return.

If you paid for the insurance its non reportable- if your employer paid then you should have gotten a 1099 from them indicating the amount.

disability is an insurance and insurance is not claimable. no matter who paid it. If you did not get any paper work don't worry about it.
