I don't think we should only allow Christians to hold offices. However, I don't like the fact that Ellison who converted to Islam insisted a Koran was going to be used at his inaguration. I'm afraid if Muslims are elected into offices, this would become common. I think all states should pass a law that says that due to our conflict in the Middle East, we cannot allow Muslims or people of Arabic descent to hold any political office. If all states pass these, then no Muslim is going to be elected or even bothered to run.

By betraying the goals our founding fathers had for this country, that's how...
From article VI of our US Constitution:
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
If we start banning people from holding office because of religious beliefs, then the terrorists have truly won.

Wait until he is up for re-election, and if the people in Minnesota don't believe he is the best candidate, he won't be re-elected.
After you ban Muslims, will you ban Jews, Hindus, Catholics, Baptists, Agnostics, Lutherans, Atheists, Christian Scientists, Baha'is, Buddhists, and any other religion that isn't yours?

I am a Minnesotan. I am a conservative. I support Bush. I support Cheney. I support the war effort in Iraq. I am a card-carrying NRA member. I think you are a Bigot.
I have Muslim friends and colleagues. They are good people. They are intelligent and hard working. They don't blow people up. Grow up and pull your rear end off your shoulders.

has he committed a crime? unless he has, I wouldn't support that action, if he has the House can remove him by a vote. you can't prevent a Muslim from holding Office because that would require a religion test, what if YOUR religion is determined to be bad?
