you don't need a degree to become an event coordinator or to do that type of work because it is an "independent contractor" type business. You need to be detailed and able to list things as to what needs to be done and when and be able to make contacts for ordering supplies, and you need to be able to do a 5-year plan for your business, and also set a plan for several different types of events. Then you need to advertise to the "right" people and get your name out there (paid advertising and contacts). Be sure and get a license, pay your taxes and be sure to get all the lump purchase discounts.

I don't think a degree is important for this field. It is more about experience.

If you really want a degree, I would suggest getting a two year degree in entrepreneurship. Or a degree in hospitality management.

Most schools don't have an event planning degree, but some have a few classes in the communication or hospitality departments.

not sure you need a degree for event management, but sounds like your talent is in marketing. it's a solid degree, lots of different jobs and career opportunities related to PR/advertising/marcom can be found with a marketing degree.

good luck

Marketing is the first degree that comes to mind. Maybe an event coordinator can answer your question. If not seek career counseling at your local college. I'm sure they will be happy to help you out.

I'd go with marketing or PR. Or you can get a general business degree that will help you with almost any career path.
