WoW is an Online Multiplayer game, and there is not a single player version, sadly.

Of course not. World of Warcraft is an MMORPG, or Massive -Multiplayer- Online Role Playing Game. It's a genre where the focus is interacting with other real people. There is only one version of the game.

Technically...yes...a person can use a private server to play single player. This however is illegal, but has been done by several people. There are alot of films done on servers like this. Using a private server lets you basically act like a GM. Allowing full control of anything in the game.

Only if you have your own server, which Blizzard will probably be very upset about. Otherwise you have to have an active internet connection to play.
On the other hand, it is possible to solo in WoW pretty far. That is you can play by yourself, with no other players with you. Some classes can solo all the way to level 60 if they stay out of instances.

No...but there are different kinds of servers. There's PVP and Role Playing Servers, so if you don't want anyone to bother you, I'd go for the RP server. The PVP's will get you ganked a lot.

No, I'm sorry but there isn't. There is Warcraft III, which is a strategy game, not an RPG so it isn't like WoW.
