Is there anything that I can do to get rid of those patches that haven't turned green yet? Is the grass ruined or are those patches still dormant? The weather here has been between the 50's and sometimes up to the 70s and even back down to the 30's.. Any suggestions?

you probably have patches of bermuda or centipede grass that are still dormant. if it's in the 30's at night, it won't green up. The only cure is warmer weather.. they'll green up.. just be patient.

Well, that's one way to add nitrogen, LOL!

Thr reason is the dog pee isn't diluted. The little boy's pee is immediately diluted. I was able to keep a KBG lawn from spotting by following my dogs around with a hose when then were allowed on the grass. We knew we were short time in the house and didn't want the lawn ruined.

Without knowing where you live and the type grasses, yes, it could be a mix of warm and cool season grasses such as bermudagrass which needs warmth and KBG (Kentucky Bluegrass) which loves cooler temps. The KBG greens up weeks before the bermuda......come see my yard!! ARGH!

Also there could be some fungus problems, insect problems going on. If the spots don't go away and in fact get bigger, time to get the problem diagnosed. Cooperative Extension Service has county agents and Master Gardeners to do that for you. Don't need to hire a company when Extension Service does it for free....dignosis.

Wow never heard of the "little brother "cure.
Many lawns are a combination of different types of grass, and some green up sooner than others. Could be that too. They really can look bad for a while until the later type breaks dormancy.
Having a hard time understanding why dog urine kills grass and little brother's cures it.

do you have a son or little brother?

it sounds gross but it works. my grass is deep green, we dont use chemicals.
he will love this anyway.

tell him that when he has to go potty to pee on the brown spots. when he is done have him spray a little water onto the spot where he peed. works every time
