The Microsoft Resource Kit includes a great, feature-rich utility called Robocopy that will do exactly what you need.

You can use it to copy, move, or even totally mirror your source and destination directories. I have used it on my network to mirror large common shares between fileservers located at different sites.

You can download it as part of the 2003 resource kit,

Here's some other information about it,

One of the MSN developers has made a nice GUI for the tool, too.

There are a couple of great utilities which might be helpful.

One is Allway Sync, which lets you sync one folder to another. You can customize the sync operation (exclude certain files/folders, etc.), and schedule when the sync should occur.

Another similar program is SyncBack SE, which lets you set up a scheduled synchronization with similar capabilities.

These programs are pretty close in terms of what they enable you to do, the interface just differs. Bonus, they're both FREEware. See links below.

I use GoodSync from Roboform. Great program, and easy. Does bi-direction sync including files deletions.

There is a free sync program from Microsoft, but I don't have experience with it. I think it's one of the Tweak tools.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=E0FC1154-C975-4814-9649-CCE41AF06EB7&displaylang=en
