my brettas temp gague is digital, shows that the car is heating up to the 3/4 line after only driving less then 4miles, Ive replaced the thermostat, the water pump is good, the fluids are good, not sure what else to check.

It's possible that the sending unit for the gauge is out of range,so find out if the engine is really too hot.And there may still be an air pocket in the system from the work done recently.Another quick check would be to look for abnormal pressure in the radiator,which may indicate exhaust pressure leaking into the cooling system through a cracked head or bad gasket. 9 years is fairly old for a radiator. It's probably half clogged and in need of replacement.
