Oracle!

I am Pythea.
I speak, and I see.
Inquiry does not matter,
answers come not from me.
At Delphi, Eleusis, Donana
upon a tripod chair
I chewed narcotic laurel,
in trance over fetid air.
Babbling riddled phrases
I trembled on marbled floor,
priests, hierophants
divined meaning
through my open core.
I tell now a secret
by this ever know...
Ask me no questions.
Answers come through
your seeking soul.

It's not clear what exactly your question is? The poem is about the oracle of Delphi. There was a crack in the floor of the cave where the Oracle did here prognostication. Halucinogenic vapors came up through the crack in the floor, it was a natural phenomenon, they did a show about it on Discovery somewhere along the line. She would also chew a narcotic herb. The herb and vapors helped to induce a trance. She would commence to babble incoherently, and a priest of the temple of Delphi would interpret her ramblings to produce a prediction. At the end of the poem the Oracle reminds you that the answer is in yourself all along, you don't really need her to carry on that way.....
