It was an amazing film on many levels.

It was the second film that used Frank Miller's dynamic story-telling techinque as a storyboard (The first was Sin City). This one involved a lot more color than SC but it was still glorious to see it come alive.

It featured a lot of relatively unknown actors in really iconic roles that made you really look at them as the part and not so much as so-and-so playing such-and-such.

It thrilled you with a powerful, legendary tale. It wasn't about history as much as it was about the power of legends and stories. Remeber that even from the beginning the tale of Leonides was used as tale to tell to his men to inspire them with trust in the abilities of their leader. The whole movie of the battle was the tale as retold to the council and how it spurred them to act. Leonides is portrayed as man who very much understand this idea. He thinks to himself (in the comic) "They will all die tomorrow, but I wonder how many of them realize what that means".

Yep, it was a great film. It also has proved to the studios that a good director can make any movie good IF THEY TRUST HIS JUDGEMENT. The meddling in a director's vision (as well as directors who pander to the studios) has killed more than one film over the last 10 years.

So the director's next project? Alan Moore's "Watchmen" I cannot wait!

i always have a thing for movies with roman-spartan-greek theme, so the gladiator, troy etc can be count as movies that i like and will watch again in the future.

300 has been captured in a different perspective and the graphic is really awesome. some might say it is not up to frank miller standard but i really enjoy watching it. so i recommend this movie to anyone who are looking for a good movie to watch.

enjoy ! (^_^)~~~

It was a great movie! The filming was done in sepia tones and made it look really cool. I'd go see it again and will buy it when it's available. I highly recommend seeing it.

It's a decent movie considering all the spartans die. And no that's not a spoiler, it's called history.
