OK, this is a two-part question.

PART I: What do the ratings in manga mean?

PART II: Can you recommend and good manga that is A-rated or...er...whatever the one that comes after A is? (The one that equals PG.)

The ratings mean what age groups are aloud to read them for example T+ is for teens ages 16 or older. Look inside the cover of the book and it'll tell you why it's rated that way. The ratings that equal PG are Y for youth. A good manga rated Y is Zodiac P.I. at least I think that one is rated Y... If it's not sorry but it's been long since I've read that one. I think Full Moon is Y. It's really good.

Ratings indicates the age you are required to read for example A stands for adult and T stands for teens. Sometimes it has a number then a plus sign which basically means the age and above.

A really good manga that you is A-rated would be Sensual Phrase which is about Sakuya, the lead singer for the hard-rocking band Lucifer, who attracts a lot of girls and Aine a high school student who suddenly finds herself with him.

I believe all the companies rate their own manga. I read somewhere that Tokyo Pop just changed their rating structure.

It's hard to recommend manga in that range without knowing what you are looking for? Do you have any genre in mind?
