At 18, irregularity is common, especially with the stress of your upcoming trip. This is evidently the first occurrence you have experienced, so don't worry, unless it lasts longer than usual, or stops & starts, in which case you should see an M.D. & have yourself checked out.

I don't think you should be overly alarmed. I have heard of different factors delaying periods, such as stress, dramatic weight loss, change in exercize, ets. I know you're not sexually active, but do you happen to take any form of birth control for cramps or other menstrual problems? Because I know that often with birth control you can have irregular periods, and some light bleeding between periods, which is called "break through" bleeding. Well hope you figure this out! Goodluck to you!

Relax. Sometimes stress, illness or iron deficiencies can bring on your period early or late. If you're not having sex, then odds are something just threw your period off. It happens to all women from time to time.
Don't worry about it too much, but note down the dates of your weird period and talk to your doctor when you get back. You might want to run some standard bloodwork tests to check for iron or vitamin deficiencies.

There could be many reasons why your period came two weeks early. Have you recently lost a lot of weight? Or, If your on birth control pill and suddenly start taking them at a different time of day, etc.

it could be due to stress or a change in your diet/ eating habit. If you haven't had intercourse say in the last month, you have nothing to worry about... but... if you're concerned about gettin irregular periods, you should check with your doctor about birth control... not only can it prevent pregnancy, but it can regulate your periods as well. i've been on it for 5 years and my periods come at the same time since.

Yes could be stress, you don't say how regular you normally are. Some people have very irregular periods for a while then they settle down into a more regular routine. Personally, I would not worry too much about this. :)

You have nothing to worry about honey. Periods can sometimes do that. Also from ever being worried about that later you may want to stay on a steady birth control to regualte your period. Good luck! I promise it is nothing wrong. Have fun on your trip!

Maybe it's cause your menstrual cycle changed....i used to get mine at the beginning of the month and now i get mine at the end....i actuall finished mine today.
I wouldn't worry about it. but if you do, then try going to a doctor before you leave.
or even better talk to your mom about it, or an adult that you feel comfortable with talking about that.

Stress, excercise, it happens to everyone. Better to have it early than late. Plus, if you're not doing it with anyone, you don't have anything to worry about. Have some chocolate!
