Does it matter if u played god of war 1 to buy god of war two and get whats going on in it?

what i mean is will the story make sense if i jus buy god of war 2 and not have played god of war 1?

You'll get more out of the story and you'll get the backstory and know what happens if you play the first game. Plus, you'll appreciate God of War II more, God of war has an amazing story, don't miss a game.

yeah its better if you play god of war one to understand some of the enemies you fight and some of the stories that are in it
