how comes there isn't a football team named london? all of the other cities are there, we have liverpool, manchester, newcastle etc etc.....why isn't there a team puely called London?? silly question i know but does anyone know why?

Because london is massive and is split up into boroughs so its easier to have lots of seperate teams then just choose one good team.
If that was the case some of the best football players and teams wouldnt exist.

I did a quick count (could be wrong) and there about 12 professional London teams.
Imagine all the supporters trying to get tickets and players trying out for a London side!!!
London is too big for one team!!

london is too HUGE to have just one team.....
the boroughs are so different and separate from each other socially and otherwise that one team would be impossible
it allows more diversity and competitiveness when u have more teams anyway.

because its a big massive city and would create bad competition between chealsea and arsenal etc etc. its to big a city to only have 1 city team.

Because there are too many football clubs from London!
But there are certain football clubs named after certain areas in London, such as Chelsea FC.
