Hi, in windows, if you hit WIN-R on your keyboard you'll open up the "run box" found in START>RUN.

Is it possible to change system settings to allow this to happen when a different set of keys are hit (e.g. if I double-click the ALT key)?

As another example, google-desktop will pop up a search bar if I double-click on the CTRL key, but I don't know how this feature is set.

TIA!

Sorry, I wasn't being clear. I was just giving Google Desktop as an example of where someone *did* reconfigure the keyboard to add a new feature.

I'm just generally interested in how this is done, but my searches of the internet using "reconfigure keyboard" in various forms hasn't produced much.

thanks again.

For the former, I don't know, differs from computer to computer. For the latter, go to Google Deskbar Preferences (Options Menu) then go to Display then uncheck Quick Search box
