Well, when you put it like that, yep, I'm a barren, desolete trees with my roots buried under the dirt, concealing all of my secrets.
I'm pretty quiet, and the only emotions I'm capable of showing is temporary happiness and hyperness.

That's a good analogy....a tree with many hidden roots. I am very open around my wife of course, because she is my best friend and I totally trust her. Around others, however, I think I do hide a lot of my emotions. I t depends on the situation and who I am around.

Hi,
most of my emotions are hidden, I don't like letting people see me truely as "me" is in a lot of emotional and mental pain..so i choose who i decide to trust carefully due to previous harm that others have caused me. I think everyone keeps many emotions to themselves and can often be what we find intreguing about others...its the unraveling of their emotions and experiences that interests us.

I think that it personally depends on the person. Some people are willing to guard their emotions and do not physically show much emotion, while some people wear their hearts on their sleeve. I think that everyone experience emotions on the inside, but how they show it is dependant on how the person wants to be perceived.
For example some men want to appear incredibly masculine, and will not show emotion to appear tough. Some girls want to appear vulnerable in order to perceived as cute. (These are just examples).

Ooo this has got me thinking, I know im too open at times, tell more than is needed, but when it comes to hurt and betrayal I hide it well. I see things that i dont like but i tend to stay quiet, if im attacked i rather look away.
Mrsb Mavis said i had repressed anger issues hehe

We should guard ourselves a bit to protect ourselves, but if we continue to hid our emotions then we will never learn to trust and if you don't learn to trust then you can't learn to love. So which is it going to be, show a bit, if its positive show a little more. We would all be living with regret if we forgot to show our feelings and vulnerability and never give ourselves time to grow and enjoy all the love in life. Take care Heather
