You'll still have homework in college... in most cases more so. And no one there checking to see if you did it, no one making sure you go to class. If you only go on the days you want to, you won't pass your courses and probably won't graduate. My college, 2 absences meant a full drop in grade (A to B, B to C, etc)
College doesn't mean you get to go when you want to. It means you have to be mature enough to be responsible about your education. When you work out how much an hour of class time is in college, not going is selfish and wasteful.
I felt liberated when I graduated high school, mostly because I was ready for the level of learning that college provides.

High school was supposed to be the best years of student life. Once you're an adult, you'll have resposibilities. I looked forward to finishing high school until I went to the university and crap, it's no longer as much fun as high school. Tried to finish the U fast to get a job . After I had a job, I went back to school for further studies, it just go on and on. Now I'm at home taking care of my kids. What a waste.

I was sad to leave high school but also excited for college. If your tired of homework now then you are in for a rude awakening. College has about three tI'mes the work of high school. Then if you go to grad (im in now) you get even more work plus working full time to support financial needs. High school was very easy compared to everything and I do miss it sometimes.

Homework is a big part of college too! You need to view it as a stepping stone to getting the answers for your tests, and a better grade. You don't have to like everything, but keep in mind that parties, friends, and going out will not help you achieve good grades. I don't recall any career interview that asked about any of that, just grades, education, and goals.

When I got out of High School I was Convinced I knew IT ALL...Leaving it was no big deal - When I got out of College I found out that I didn't know as much as I thought I did !!!
Stay in touch with your high school buds - but moving on was exciting and scary all at once !!!
