Why is it that there is so much hype around this band? I've listened to the album, for the most part it is good but people are saying this is the greatest band ever. Why? I like a couple of songs, but by far this cannot be the greatest band ever. Is it all hype to sell more records? Has the entertainment industry come together to over-promote this band and their new album?

Start with Funeral. Give it a couple of listens and see if it grows on you.

When I first heard Funeral a couple of years ago, I thought, "What's the big deal? " I left it alone for a couple of weeks. Eventually gave it a few more listens, was absolutely hooked. Today, The Arcade Fire's "Neighborhood #2 (Laika) is the number one most played track in my itunes, followed closely by "In the Backseat."

The Arcade Fire is the whole package. Emotive and evocative with well thought out lyrics. I don't know any other band that can make music like this.

I've only heard one of the singles, think it's called "Keep the Car Running", thought it was quite bland to be honest.

Maybe you are surrounded by a fan base. As far as I know, the hype hasn't spread.

Have you heard Funeral? That's a really good album.
