For some people it's easier to get waves in their hair than others. Here are the ways to get waves.

1.)brush A LOT. Always keep you're brush on you.

2.)make sure you get your hair cut and washed regularly. It is best to wash your hair at least every other day.

3.) make sure the bristles on your brush are hard enough

4.) Make sure you're brushing right. Start from the center of the scalp and brush outwards towards the hair line. Brush the sides in a slight slant.

5.) Make sure the wave pomade is thick enough for your cut. For a short cut, Sportin Waves (in the black can is the best). For a longer cut Dax (in a red can) or Murrays (in a tannish-brown can) is the best because they have a stronger hold.

6.) Protect your pattern by wearing a wave cap or durag at night.

Brushing is what develops your waves. The only thing that the wave cap and pomade does is enhance the look of the waves by weighing your hair down.
It will probably take a few weeks for you to see any results. If you want fresh waves all throughout your hair it will take a few months. It takes a lot of patience at first but it will get easier for you once you start seeing results.
If you don't have a lot patience you can buy an s-curl kit for waves. It gives you instant waves and it's pretty cheap but it is not permanent and your hair will not get as wavy as it would with the old fashioned way.

Hi. Try a curling iron.
