Don't you remember that Dinesh Karthik was the man of the match in the 20-20 match played in South Africa.
In a team every one cannot be a big-hitter.One or two people like them are necessary in the team to steady the innings. Moreover Dravid and Karthick too are capable of scoring quickly when situation warrants,

Though Dravid was a defensive player couple of years ago, he has proved of late that he can adapt to any situation and score runs at fast rate when situation demands. Hence he can be no more considered as a defensive player. Dinesh Karthik can also be considered as a defensive player. Hence both are suitable for 20/20 cricket as well.
