beer at a children's party should not be expected.

Invite them over to your house afterward and celebrate that way if you want.

I wouldn't even worry about it- I know you are wanting everyone to have a great time but they have to understand the type of party it it and the fact that your hands are tied because the hall doesn't allow it. I was thinking the next few people who bring it up you could say" oh yeah I took care of it don't worry" and then when they show up have a whole bunch of root beer on ice, that will teach them to give you a hard time.

Um, no. Kids birthday party+beer=inappropriate. Totally!

Well then I would say that they can't come. There is no need for people to be drinking at a 1year olds birthday party and if it is such a big deal to them then they should stay home and drink. The party is for the child not them.

Remind them it's a kid's party. If they can't get through a couple of hours without a beer, they've got problems!

Let them Wig because kids parties are for kids. Where do people get that everything is for adults. Why would they want to get drunk when they are supposed to be watching their children anyway. I think that is just selfish

The kid won't ever remember the1st 4 or 5 birthdays anyways. Why subject people to have to get together for a party nobody really wants to be at anyways. Save everyone the time and money and skip it.

I agree with the above poster. Just have the birthday at home, let them smash their cake. You'll be too busy with the guests to enjoy your kids birthday - the dramas starting already with the beer thing.

If they can't go without beer for a few hours find them the nearest AA meeting.

If they can't spend an hour or 2 celebrating your baby without beer, they have problems.
