The Doors followed by Walk the Line. Both were awesome & the actors, Val Kilmer and Joaquin Phoenix respectively, did amazing portrayals.

I loved Walk The Line, but have you ever seen Mr. Holland's Opus (1995)? It stars Richard Dreyfuss as a young musician who becomes a music teacher.

It's set in the sixties to begin with, but then charts his progress, both as a teacher and a musician through the years up to the middle nineties. If you want a feet-up, phone-off-the-hook, feelgood movie, then I recommend it. It is a favorite of mine.
