I seem to be on about Saudi a lot lately, perhaps I'm cracking up?
I worked on a rota in Saudi 4 months on 2 weeks home leave in the UK. no booze in Saudi of course, I used to dream about a nice cold pint of lager with the condensation dripping down the outside of the glass!
So after 4 months without I could have said I can do without, did I ??? No chance, I did that for 2 years, I never regretted getting a few (or more) down my neck at the first opportunity.
Go for it!!
I had a good friend who owned a pub, he was on the 'top self shorts' a lot !
The doc told him he had to stop, he stopped, in fact he became some sort of 'leader' in the AA group, he died soon after in a car accident.
This answer of course will not be at all popular, I have been drinking (heavily) since the age of 15, I am now 68, and still drink like a trooper. It has never stopped me working and I've had some really good times in the boozer, what are you afraid of? My Dad and Grandad also drank a lot, I'm not ashamed of it neither were they.
You could of course join the AA!
