Watching this incident unfold with the British sailers captured by Iran. Instead of turning this into an excuse to launch an offensive, they should admit they had infringed on what Iran feels is it's border, apoligize, tell the truth, and it will probably end without incidence. Right now pointing fingers over invisible boundries does not accomplish anything but war, and the thing is the people arguing about it won't even be in the line of fire. Comments?

Right, and Bush planted explosives in the World Trade Center buildings causing them to implode at 9/11 so we could blame the Arabs...

For a start, they were in Iraqi waters. Why do you feel the need to believe the Iranians. Remember they are the ones who claim the Holocaust never happened.

Second, this is deliberate provocation by Iran. They want a bargaining chip to try to reduce the severity of sanctions imposed by the UN. Remember here, even their friends the Russians have agreed to sanctions because they are tired of the Iranians and their posturing.

Is it an excuse to start a war? You would have to ask the Iranains who perciptated the crisis by invading Iraq, commiting piracy and abduction.

I do not think there will be a war over this incident.
It will not be beneficial for the British to admit to a violation that did not occur. The hostages have to do this under duress, but they will no doubt tell the truth after their release has been secured.
The Iranian government carried out this action for political purposes, to gain support for an unpopular regime, and to gain status in the international community.

Too much is at stake to start war. No country can afford it. Look at us. Can you imagine what could we have done, if we did not go to Iraq. There are enough naive people who still believes that US is in Iraq because of 9/11.
There will be diplomatic solution where each country will have face to save by agreeing to do something together. Most probably via US's help.

Except that the Brits were apparently not in Iranian waters. Why should the Brits admit to something they did not do? Why aren't you suggesting that Iran apologize for taking the Brits captive, and release them?

It's political chess games as always between countries that don't like each other. It's been going on for years.

Note: For you liberal-hating big mouths, read Tom Tomorrow's comic strips. You're all just as ignorant as the right wingers he makes fun of.

It's all a propaganda stunt by the Bush Administration to invade the sovereign nation of Iran. Just like the terror attacks of 911.
