You cannot dwarf a lemon tree because it's a type of tree. If you continue to prune a regular sized lemon tree though, you can create a bush out of it.

You can top the tree manually by cutting back the primary limbs. However, this will not always work unless it is a "dwarf" version of the tree. Eventually you will need to move it outside with continued growth.

My friend has a lemon tree from a seed taken from her lemonade. It is a very nice healthy tree that is taken inside during winter months. It is about 16 years old.Growing a lemon tree is possible if you care for it properly. We have harsh winters in Kentucky so you can do it also.I have noticed that she keeps it pruned alot.(she owns and operates a nurcery)

Dwarf fruit trees are a variety, not something that generally grows outdoors and you put a brick on its head to keep it from growing.

Two ways. You can put it in a small pot and get it rootbound which will retard it's growth. You can also graft it onto a trifoliate root stock. I have a few growing in pots here in Arkansas.
