Put uncontrolled power in the wrong hands & this is the result. They protect their own. Everyone is guilty except for them. They are just legal criminals no better then mob hit men.

Not all cops are like that but sadly there are a lot who are. You should avoid them when ever possible. If confronted be very nice to them and do what they say. They could easily make up a fake story and put you in jail for years. It hopefully doesn't get as extreme as you see in the movies when a cop shoots someone and puts and unregistered gun in the body's hands to make it look like self defence but don't take any chances!

This is NOT the mentality nation wide. So sorry that northerners don't know how to control themselves but in SC we have wonderful officers who do things by the book. And, who cares about the criminals? Not me! They have too many "rights"! Just last week two wonderful officers who did a lot for our community were shot and killed in the line of duty over a domestic dispute. Back off the cops!

As it does sicken me that there are cops that would act in such a manner after swearing to serve and protect. The fact is just because there are a few bad eggs that make it in the system does not mean they are all bad eggs. For the most part those that join the forces are doing it for the right reasons. The jerk your speaking of should of got fried, but reality is it doesn't work that way, and yes corruption is part of it, but do not allow yourself to believe that they are all that way.

I whole-heartedly agree with you . There is NO SUCH THING AS A GOOD COP! I have never met a single cop who was honest and did his job by the books, they all break the laws they are supposed to protect at some point in their lives. Be it greed, lust or violence, a cop will break the law.

I have prime examples right here in the small town of Oak Hill,WV. Our former Chief of Police Butch Lawhorn was sleeping with a married woman, who is now divorced and they are getting married. One of our Corporals was released for having an affair with a married woman on Rosedale Elementary School grounds after hours and even throwing the used condoms on the roof ( I swear this to you, it was on the news as well.) And then there is Corporal Jon Mcgwire who one year ago on April 15th, pulled me over for supposedly running a stop sign (which is obsurd considering I made a right turn from a dead stop, go figure) . I responded by saying he was wrong, he began to get irrate, then began yelling, so I calmly told him he was what is wrong with WV police officers. Before I could utter another word I was jerked from my vehicle , tossed into the cop car.

I suffered what is known as handcuff neuropathy, a result of misuse of police cuffs. I lost feeling in my hand for about 3 months roughly. As a result, the police dropped all formal charges, but made me pay a fine of $330, yet did not bring the charge of stop-sign violation or obstruction to me. I was let-go. So basically, it was all a money scam.

My neighbor was a victim of similiar circumstances a month later on Memorial Day. He was in his yard with his wife, having a beer while cooking out, when two officers arrived and was looking around his yard , he asked them what for? One officer said "Its none of your business" he began to get angry and said "yes it is" so the cop , threw one, just one cuff on his hand and jerked him that way across his yard, threw him in the squad car and then hauled to Southern Regional Jail for " Disorderly Conduct" . It's obsurd.

I think all policeman everywhere need to be dragged out in the street and be beaten by the victims they've beaten.

I agree that lots of cops nowadays are criminals.
I was attacked from behind in January by an idiot cop in my hometown named Giovanni.
I wonder if he came from chicago?
Later he falsified 3 charges against me to try to protect his scumbag ***.
I want to see him punished.
People such as him should not be in law enforcement whatsoever.

Nope, very rare and surprisingly so considering some of the provocation they get. Most cops are doing a great job under trying conditions for too little money. You'll catch on the first time you need one to help you out.

So when your mother stops breathing and a Police Officer get to her home before the Ambulance, you'll tell him to leave right?? Police Officers are human, and they aren't all saints. But I am originally from Chicago, and I will tell you that CPD doesn't tolerate nonsense and never have. Meaning, people need to obey they law. They always say that a CPD Officer would write their own mother a ticket. I say great, then their doing their job!

No, I don't agree. I think over the last ten years this kind of thing happens once, maybe twice a year nationwide.

The only way to prevent it is to eliminate the police altogether, somewhat like preventing house fires by banning houses.

that is a pretty terrible assumption about all cops. first of all they don't have uncontrolled power, they are held accountable for what they do. Yes there are some bad cops out there but they are the minority, not the majority of cops.
