word processing: Gives you a blank page for you type on. From there you can make paragraphs, letters, documents, etc.

Spreadsheets like microsoft Excel, are for numbers.
you can type works too, but mostly spreadhseets are for data. It will add, subtract, etc for you and keep totals.

word process can be as simple as writting letters. Do you know the window's commands and drop down menus?

Spreadsheet is a little more involved Each 'cell' has an address (like A:1) and each address hold a value or mathmatical operator for instance

1 (value) =(A1)/2 or 5

for any number you put in A1, 1/2 that value is displayed in B1

Open Excell and go through the tutorial or help' . It will get you through what you need to know.
