Do not give her a gift certificate to Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. Most men would know better, especially the ones who have learned the correct response to "do these pants make me look fat." If you are one of the poor souls who still doesn't get it and purchased a gift like this, be prepared for the silent treatment for a month. (Although that may be something you would actually look forward to.) A better alternative would be hiring a Chippendale dancer as a personal trainer to get her motivated into getting fit.

Actually men are terrible at gifts (most anyway).
On a special occasion, unless specified, I want something that lets me know my guy is still trying to woo me. Yet, I and most of my friends still get things like, DVD collections of Southpark, Winter Parkas, George Foreman Grills etc.....
I would rather have a dozen Gerbera Daisies or a inexpensive pair of earrings than $250 worth of DVD's or micro-fleece......
Once in a while I may want an ice-cream maker, but if I do I will let you know. If we say we don't know what we want it is because we are hoping for once you will get that gift certificate for Victoria's Secret or Sephora and pass it along with a few flowers!
My one friend showed her husband the same locket three times before Christmas. He bought her a turkey fryer :(
