I just saw the Chicago video of the female bartender HORRIBLY beaten by an off-duty cop who was twice her size and drunk, repeatedly kicking her in the face and punching her because she refused him alcohol. This has gone on for far too long.

I am sick of how police get away with these attrocities. Just like the black man in NYC who was gunned down on his wedding day, despite the reports that he was unarmed and non-violent. Or 1991 Rodney King beating. Or the black man gunned down in NYC a few years ago 47 times ,while trying to pick up his wallet.

I myself was a victim of brutality a year ago on April 15th in Oak Hill,WV. A policeman said I ran a stop sign, which I didn't , I made a right turn in fact. So I told him he was wrong and then , in a non-violent manner, complained about the WV police force, I was then jerked from my vehicle, placed under arrest and suffered what is known as "handcuff neuropathy", my hand took 3 months to heal and the formal charges were dropped.

I should add, that though formal charges were dropped , I still paid a $330 fine but still have no criminal record. The stop-sign violation and obstruction charges were never charged. It was an obvious attempt to just gain money.

_

It is also important to mention that one of our Sergeants on the Oak Hill Police force was just arrested a few months ago for breaking into his ex-wife's home, then beating her to the point of hospitalization. He was charged with breaking and entering, domestic violence and drunk and disorderly conduct.

We have GOT to stop these crooked police officers across the country people.

And to the woman who told me to next time be quiet, no. These are my rights to speak, and I will express them. Silence is what kills people.

They are just legal thugs. They are encouraged to be brutal. They protect their own. Knowing nothing will happen to them they become worst then the criminals they are suppose to arrest. They hold the power of life & death over the people and there is nothing anyone can do. They are the same bullies from grade school. The difference now is they have permission to kill.

No, they are not above the law, and there is no statute of limitations on murder. The case is being investigated by the FBI and other authorities, and these guys aren't going anywhere. The story sounds like it'll be big when it goes to trial, and the forensic evidence sounds overwhelming. Will be waiting for this case to break with great interest. Sounds like a plea-bargain is the only way for them to have half a chance to avoid being raked over the media coals. The federal boys will get to the bottom of this. Thanks.

People shouldn't be in fear of the Police. No one should have to cower down before them when getting pulled over. You should be entitled to ask why with out fearing a beating. Change needs to happen. Cops are criminals!

Did you learn a lesson from your experience?

Such as making the mistake of complaining to an armed police officer about the police force, after this armed police officer pulled you over and accused you of committing an illegal act, when you didn't?

Next time, honey, just say YES SIR, here's my license and proof of insurance, SIR.
I am sorry, SIR, but I thought I came to complete stop, SIR.
I will be more careful, SIR.

When a police officer tells a person to "drop that gun" or "freeze", then a smart person will keep his mouth shut and follow the armed police officer's demand, rather than risk being shot or brutalized.

I know that there are bad cops out there, but there are people who deserve what they get from taunting police officers.

Sorry that this happened to you, but next time, keep your mouth closed and be respectful!

You are still young and have a lot to learn.
Had you not complained about police to a police officer who pulled you over, and rather showed him respect, the policeman might have let you off with a warning!

You can never win an argument with a cop, sweetheart.

You want to complain about the police in your area, write a letter to the editor of your newspaper!

A mature and an intelligent person would realize that complaining to a policeman about other policemen when pulled over for a traffic violation is very stupid.

You didn't deserve to be yanked out of your vehicle and cuffed, but sweetie, if you continue to think the way that you do, it's going to happen again and maybe next time you won't be so lucky as to merely suffer bruising from cuffs.

It's never a good idea to argue with a man carrying a gun, dear.

Police forces could probably recruit, screen, and train better people if they had better funding. Unfortunately, incidents like this cause people to want to give less for law enforcement, and it only gets worse.

By the way, there was no reason you needed to tell the policeman he was wrong or complain at all. You get to do all those later. I'm not saying you deserved it or caused it, not even saying you had no right to do it, but you had nothing to gain by doing so, and I would call it a mistake even if nothing further had occurred.
