I think anyone who goes to hollywood movies "based on historic events" and expects them to actually be accurate deserves to have their intelligence insulted. After so many inaccurate films from them about historical events everyone should know better by now!
Actually, anyone who goes to 95% of hollywood movies deserves to have their intelligence insulted.... With all the good movies from Iran, why would you bother?

I'm not a persian, but when I watched that movie, I supported the persians, because it was so evident that the movie was all against the persians. They showed them as very ugly and barbaric people, but on the contrary the sparts were very handsome with incredible muscles, and were able to kill all the persians, but they were not showed as barbars. I think this type of movies cause a bad image of orientals, and create prejudices. . And there was a sentence near the end of the film like till we destroy all the barbaric oriental culture...They become sometimes so funny as they want to show the western culture as superior.
I cannot call such a film tht is far from being convincing and objectivity as an historic film. Some people just want to call it as a historic film because they are flattered.

The movie is based on actual historic events. The battle did take place, but the movie exaggerated the events. The 300 Spartans did fight the Persians and win.

You mean that Persians aren't really lizard like people as in the immortals? The hell you say! I am blown away, for I thought I was looking at actual persians in the film. Next you'll tell me that King Xerxes wasn't an 8 ft. tall gay guy or something as ridiculous as that. The real story is of course that the Persians really looked more like monkies and drove the Spartans away by throwing crap at them.

The film was based on a graphic novel based on a historical/mythological account of the battle.
In other words, it's just a movie.

I don't think it was that offensive. I do believe that a battle like that happened, but people have different ideas of how it happened and why. That film is just one person's idea of how he thought it may have happened. Don't take it personally.

Have you even seen the movie. It was never meant to be factual. I would be more concerned about what the rest of the world thinks about your country publicly hanging little girls for talking to boys, than a movie based on a COMIC BOOK.

I think most of these movies based on prior cultures and times are mostly inaccurate, mixed in with a wee bit of truth.
