My boyfriend and I broke up 5 months ago, but we still sleep together a lot (we used to live together.) We still fight all the time, and we still have the same love/hate relationship.

Last night I was at our old apartment with him and I couldn't stop crying. I was up till 7 am just bawling and I don't know why. What can I do to feel better. This guy is significantly older than me-maybe that's why it was so hard? Anyone, please, if you have any ideas on how not to feel awful, please let me know.

You need to cut yourself off from him cold turkey. Right now, you're allowing him to be non-committal to you yet still get to have sex with you. You deserve so much more than that, and you probably feel bad because deep down, you know this.

You don't need to erase him or your time with him from your memory. You just need to take a more honest look at your reality. It WILL get better. I promise.

It's up to you to choose how to feel. If you don't want to feel "awful" then don't...or make changes that will not cause you to want to feel that way.

Doesn't sound like a real healthy relationship (love/hate, fighting all the time) so that may be a big part of why you feel "awful". Perhaps it's time to divest yourself of this situation once and for all so you can start fresh and choose to feel great!

well if your not happy with him and your not dating then why are you still hanging around and sleeping with him. maybe thats all he wants from you? I had a friend that was in a situation just like that. She's been much happier once she got away and stopped thinking about him.
