The Vietnam Conflict, actually it was never declared a war by Congress, was all about stopping Communism. Our goal was to stop the spread of communism throughtout Asia. The problem the US government ran across was here in this country. Many, right or wrong, claimed that Vietnam had a right to self-determination to decide whether they wanted to be capitalist or communist.
