I am fortyseven years old. I have hazel eyes, (more green than brown) dark blonde hair (highlighted) and my skin has red tones and freckles. What color eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner should I wear?

Skin tone is the most important factor in choosing colors. From what you've said, I recommend:

1) dark brown eyeliner tight against the lash line
2) brown/black mascara to complement your hair; pure dark black will be too harsh for day time
3) soft champagne or taupe eyeshadow would be good ways to start

I would recommend lighter shades for your eyeshadow (ie silver, lavender, ivory, a light shade of gold). A muted green like olive or moss would look good.

If you have full eyelashes, mascara and a dark brown eyeliner to line the lower rim of your eyes would be gorgeous (be careful because it is easy to get racoon eyes. Baby wipes easily erase any mistakes)

There are Almay shadows that you can purchase at any drug store. They are eye color specific, with three shades in each compact, and they show you how to apply. Good luck! With hazel eyes, I think the possibilities are endless, from green, to brown, to lavender, etc. Just go lightly at first so you don't feel like you look freakish. :)

I always stick with brown/black mascara (that's just me) but for eyeshadow I would say pick blues or purples--something bright that makes your eyes stand out! With eyeliner---I almost always use black.
