this girl I know lied to me and my friend about being raped then she wrote a suside letter today so me and my firned went to the consuler and know they are gonna help her but now I'm wondering if I did the right thing??

I think you definitely did the right thing. She obviously is reaching out for attention by lying to you and your friend about a matter so serious as Rape. she might be really depressed, especially writing a suicide letter. Your counselor is a professional and will know the necessary actions to take with discretion. Hopefully one day your friend will be able to understand and thank you for saving her. And if not, I'm sure someone out there loves her i.e. parents, siblings, that'd be terribly heartbroken if she went through with killing herself. Mostly whats been bothering isn't that deep, which at times seems like it is until you grow older and learn. I think your intentions were good so don't let this get to you.

It sounds like this friend of yours is crying out for someone to notice her. Pretending to have been raped and writing suicide letters both show that she is in need of help. If you really care about your friend, you want her to get that help. She might get mad at you for bringing the counselor into this, but you did the right thing.

Yes you did the right thing. Anytime some one writes a suicide note is a cry out for help, especially if it is found before they do anything to hurt themselves. If she gets mad at you all you can say is that you love her and want her to stick around and just wanted her to make the right decision.

Its sometimes hard to know if what you done was the right thing. I honestly believe it was the right thing to do. A very good way in the future to see if what you done was right or not is... after its all said and done, everything has been played out, think about it. If you wouldn't have changed the way you reacted.. then you done the right thing :)

Absolutely. Obviously she needs some help. Who lies about something as horrible as rape. Not to mention how would you feel if she really did attempt suicide and did nothing.
