If you have an undergrad degree (BBA) from Ross B-school (Univ of Mich), how does that impact your chances of getting accepted? I've heard rumors they don't want alumni back....WHY NOT???

If you really want to know -- ask someone in admissions. They love to answer questions like that.

I can't speak for Ross in particular -- but many schools accept a number of their own undergraduates. When I was at Duke, for example, there were more Duke undergraduates than any other single school. Of course, Duke does not have an undergraduate B-School.

My advice would be to go elsewhere. There are two reasons for this. The first is that if you can get into U of M's MBA program, then you can probably also get into a higher rated program -- and you should do that. U of M's program is highly regarded -- but it is probably rated a little higher than it should be (on the MBA level -- not on the undergraduate level).

The other reason is that there is a dirty little secret among the top B-Schools that have undergraduate programs. That secret is that they teach the same classes to the undergraduates that they teach to the graduate students.

I know this first hand -- I got my PhD and taught at Berkeley. I have also taught finance classes at MIT and Wharton.

An MBA from Ross would be redundant. Go elsewhere.

I don't know but have you considered a joint JD-MBA degree?
