And if so, do you find it necessary to having to make up class by walking around a track for 45 minutes for every class period you missed?
By the way, most kids don't even break a sweat in gym.

It's a bit of a waste of time that could be spent actually learning when one thinks about it.

The idea that it'll help with the childhood obesity problem is probably wrong anyway, there are a lot of fat people that play sport and a lot of thin people that don't get much physical activity around.

idk if its necessary all four years it was only necessary for 2 years at my high school (in california) but i dont think it really hurts you either to have PE. Most people dont get enough physical activity and even if the kids are not breaking a sweat in class they are still getting physical activity which is good for them. We had the make up policy for our PE. I can see if you miss the class you should make up the work just like in any other class and thats about the only way they can have the students make up the missed class time, though i know that when i missed class for another sports game i would have to make up the time and well that seemed stupid because i was missing PE to go play in the high school sport. It could go either way.

It's really a waste of time. All this gym class hasn't made a dent in childhood obesity.

What people really need is more time in English class!

Yeah it stops all the "child obesity" nonsense thats circling around. And keeps you fit so you will want to carry it on after you have left school. Wish we had to do that we were lucky to get an hour a week!

Yes,especially now that more and more kids are much more sedentary than they used to be. Sounds like the classes have even gotten softer,,:-)=
