When you are buying eggs at the store do swith out any bad or broken ones with good ones from another carton to make a perfect dozen? I do this but I always feel like I'm stealing or something. I look all around to see if anyone is watching me. I just wondered if anyone else did that and felt like me.

Thank you for answering my question. I have always wondered why, when I get home from the store, All I have in my carton is broken eggs. I may have one or two good ones but the rest are broken. I always thought that I was transporting them wrong and I have tried everything from putting them in my lap to buckling them into a car seat and I still have a bunch broken when I get home. I never thought to look in the carton at the store. YOU have been breaking my eggs lady. Salmonella is no fun, let me tell you. .

I just check till I find one that has no broken eggs in it.
But if I wasn't so lazy I guess it's a good idea to switch them out so all the bad eggs are in the same carton, probably what the store workers do.

i know lots of people that do that. If there is a broken egg in the carton they keep going till they find one where all eggs are fine. You are not stealing just trying to get what you pay for :)

No. But I get a carton of extra small eggs and I switch them out one at a time from several different cartons for the jumbo eggs. That way I get the jumbo eggs for 82 cents (the price of the smaller eggs, instead of paying the 86 cents (the price of the jumbo eggs). They're not going to rip me off like that. I know for a fact that it costs no more to produce a large egg than it costs to produce a jumbo egg.

Why feel bad, you're paying for a dozen eggs, you should get a dozen eggs.

I switch them too if there's too many cartons that have a broken one in it + i get tired of opening them all. I don't feel like I'm stealing anything, but I do feel funny if anyone is around. : )

I do that all the time you're entitled a good dozen of UNBROKEN eggs. But I should stop swapping smaller ones for bigger ones while ridding myself of broken ones...*

no i don't do that. but I will continue to open up the cartons until i find a carton that has no broken eggs. it's tedious...but oh well
