If you are using real silver, that's probably not going to work. You see, silver melts at just over 1700 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything you dip in it will just melt. Your best bet would be to cast it (which can be quite dangerous if you don't know what you're doing) or to buy some leaf and sizing and gild it (very easy and requires much less equipment--sizing is pretty much just glue).

If the purpose is to silver plate an item, this method wont work.. Plating is done chemically with electricity. The heat from the melted silver will most likely ruin whatever you are dipping into it. Electro-plating is inexpensive and can be done at home . All the supplies will fit in half a shoe box. In you search bar, type in electro-plating kits.
