i completely agree with u yea im a mexico fan but i know they arent the best but i do know that they are still the best team in North America and in the top 3 from north and south america the other 2 bein argentina and brazil and the reason y they think they are good is because they are all cocky who think they can compete with the best and they have no real talent because they are never goin to have a ronaldinho or a henry but mexico has dos santos and vela which is sweet

First of all, the game vs Guatemala was a friendly. They are giving some of the young players a chance to show what they can do for the team. The WC is over and done. Italy won the cup.
Second, where are you getting the information that the team thinks they are good? And which team do you follow? Better yet, which team are you comparing the US to? Not any team in the CONCAF, the US owns it.

We should know we're not there yet based on our horrible performance in last year's WC. The guatemala match was a friendly, I wouldn't make too much of it. Mexico beat Ecuador, what does that prove?
And don't overestimate Ghana, we went farther in 02 than Ghana did in 06 and you see what happened to us in the next WC. Ghana has flash in the pan written all over it, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't qualify for the '10 WC.

Yes, USA still has work to do, we are not the best team in the world right now, but we are certainly getting better. Yes, the last World Cup was disappointing. Still, USA fans believe in the team because: Went to World Cup quarter finals in 2002. Tied Italy in the World Cup last year. Undefeated since the World Cup, with wins over Denmark, Ecuador, and Mexico. Many promising young players are coming out of USA, and there are lots of reasons why fans are excited here.
David---D. Beasley is white? Eddie Johnson? O. Onyewu? Tim Howard? Brian Ching? Eddie Pope? Claudio Reyna? Freddy Adu? Cobi Jones? .....should I go on?

We don't, we just like rooting for our team. We have high hopes when the national team plays, but aren't too surprised when they lose.Personally I just want them to beat Mexico regularly, if that happens I'm happy. I don't know about "never be" great though, this is the USA, sorry we're confident about things getting better, but the country's track record for achievement in any field, including sports speaks for itself.

Yeah they suck... But Ghana were lucky. Ghana got slaughtered by the Brazilians. We would have at least made a game of it.
