sometimes it seems like the griffins can hear him and sometimes it sounds like they dont..which is it? can they hear him or is he speaking baby jibberish?

no they cant - he is speaking in jibberish

He's a baby - I think they hear him speaking jibberish except for when he calls out Mommy, Daddy, Lois, or Peter. Many cartoon creators try to make the dogs understand the baby, though but I don't know why.

a great style of the time its brian yet there are from time to time whilst lois will respond to stewie, like whilst he makes an exceedingly advise remark or threatens her different than that in spite of the undeniable fact that one and all considers what leaves his mouth infant communicate

just like any parent, most of what we "hear" from a baby is body language and gibberish speak,,, what brian hears is a standard conversation,,,

I asked my husband the EXACT same question last night. He just laughed at me.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you. I'm guessing that only Brian can understand him.

In my opinion....he speaks baby talk and only Brian (the dog) can understand him.
